Ending or RUS 104

First day at USM I felt excited and at the same time I was very nervous because it was my first day in the university and I didn't know any person. After enter HBP just knew that urban and regional planning need have a basic drawing skill and sense of design. All these drawing and designing project was my "first try" before that i never practice in drawing. I had be honest that i felt self-abased when comparing with ID and Archi schoolmate because they have full of knowledge about architecture and drawing, coloring, sense of design.
Whatever, i will improve myself in the next sem. The end. ;)

Project 7

This Project we need to design a booth for presenting our previous project in the HBP drum. The theme of Exhibition 2013 is "Floating Line". That was a big mission because only have few day for us design and prepare the booth.

Project 6C

Main Topic                            : Integrated Project – Design & Build A Small Scale Building

OBJECTIVES                        :

  •  Based on the presentation dawings of their respective Amphiteatre Stage design, each group needs to build or construct the scale size model of their stage (1:5 scale).
  • Students are given two weeks to plan and complete the model construction process.
  • To ensure that the stage model is successfully constructed within the stipulated time, students are encouraged to discuss and for several sub-groups which are responsible for different parts of construction.
  • Each group also needs to provide the actual costing for their stage model construction (Model Actual Cost) and submit it along with the physical model.

Finally we did it, our "baby" after 2 sleepless week. Even our group have some arguments because of communication problem but we solved it and work co-operate as a group.

The design of the amphitheatre stage is inspired by coconut leaves. At the behind of the stage that design five coconut leaf to presenting our design concept.

This is the our amphitheatre stage with additional lighting effect.

    Project 6A

Main Topic                            : Integrated Project – Design & Build A Small Scale Building

    OBJECTIVES                        :

    • To enhance students’ skills in applying suitable elements and principles of design in producing a small building with specific function and context.
    • To improve students’ skills in conducting and documenting site analysis, designing objects and producing complete presentation drawings.
    • To enhance students’ creativity in designing a unique yet practical one-space building with the understanding of human physiology, ergonomic and comfort factors based on basic technical knowledge.
    • To increase students’ creativity in producing a remarkable stage design in the real climate and site context and explaining it with a clear design statement.
    • To introduce students to the skills of applying suitable structural design, materials and basic services.
    • To expose students to the basic costing analysis.
    • To introduce students to the report writing requirements and skills.
    • To expose students to the knowledge of basic construction process and management.
    • To allow students to construct a relatively large scale of physical model with appropriate construction techniques.
    • To encourage teamwork and nourish leadership skills among students.

    Site Analysis

The site is located beside the studio HBP. The existing site is covered with peat soil and only some trees was planted at the site. There is no shady area nearby the site and it is exposed directly to sunlight all day long. As there is traffic near the site, so the noises will cause disturbance to sound system. Besides, facilities and buildings nearby the site are well maintained with adequate cleanliness.

                                                                        Elevation Section

The design of the amphitheatre stage is inspired by coconut leaves. This stage is designed based on the shape with the combination of cross sectional structure of coconut leaves. The real view of this stage is alike structure that cover with several coconut leaves.

                                                                            Floor Plan

It is proposed to develop a user friendly amphitheatre. The stage is designed based on universal design concept. This amphitheatre is designed with a floor ramp that enable the disable people to use it though. The seat for disable audience is design near to other audience so that all the audience can communicate well during the performance.
The seat of audience is surrounded by buffer zone which consist of trees. It can provide enough oxygen to the audience. Beside that, the buffer zone also can overcome the problem of noising. the arrangement of trees is located surrounding the seat of the audience are giving a good impression and comfortable environment.
